How to Shop for Marijuana in Massachusetts
So now that a couple of stores are open in Massachusetts, here is what you need to know.
Where can I buy marijuana?
So far, just two have opened their doors: Cultivate in Leicester and New England Treatment Access, or NETA, in Northampton. The next to open are likely to be Pharmacannis Massachusetts in Wareham, Alternative Therapies Group in Salem, and INSA in Easthampton.
What should I buy?
Whatever you buy, just take it slow. If you haven’t had a toke since 1979 you will be knocked on your behind if you suck on a joint the way you used to. There has been a lot of genetic engineering over the last 40 years. The bud tenders are solid though and will steer you in the right direction. Don’t be afraid to ask questions.
How much will it cost?
Doesn’t matter – just bring lots of cash and since you will be waiting in a long – get all you can afford within the legal limit.
For about $60, you’ll get an eighth of an ounce. That’s enough for light smoker for a few weeks.
How much can I buy?
Legally, you can buy up to 1 ounce but shops may limit you because of the high demand and to try and spread the wealth.
What happens when I walk in?
You will be asked for a government ID and when it’s your turn you will get individual assistance. You can sniff the weed but whatever you do, DON’T touch it!
